The wind is blowing, the snow is snowing…
I was wearing a hat yesterday and as a pulled it up into a beret shape I this popped into my head.
I was at a Songhoy Blues gig last night and realised that my love for the music of Mali started with this dance music gem from 30 (count em) years ago. It also reminds me of a dear friend (who is no longer with us) as it was “his” tune on the dance floor.

I’m surprised at how infrequently I have a Cocteaus earworm, given how obsessed I was with them in my youth. I think it must be the unintelligible lyrics.
Heard this on the radio a couple of weeks ago, and it’s stuck in my head now. I recall loving the video when it came out. Simple but effective.
For the one and only Screaming Eagle of Soul. So lucky to have seen him live with his revue in Glasgow. One of my favourite gigs of the past few years. Thank you for the music, Charles.
