So, it would appear that Prince isn’t a big fan of letting his recorded material be used on youtube. So, we have Janelle for original bpm and Prince/3rdeyegirl live for authenticity.
Inspired by my mad cat Erik who regularly goes crazy, gets nuts. And I find myself singing this to him, naturally. “Waiting for the purple bananas til they put us in the trucks.”
I always loved XTC, with their jaggy new wave pop stylings. I hear them every so often on 6music, and fall in love all over again. It’s good to share.

I don’t like Bob Dylan. I can’t stand the sound of his voice. Folk harmonica sets my teeth on edge. But I appreciate the brilliance of his songwriting when I hear cover versions of his songs that suit my ears better. And this is one of them.
This song has been popping in and out of my head recently. A friend professed her admiration for Agent Dale Cooper from Twin Peaks and immediately I agreed with the phrase “Love is kinda crazy with a spooky little boy like Coop”. And now Dusty’s completely stuck in my head.
I think the sunshine has put this in my head.
